Vintage Murano Glass Cameo Brooch

 
This is an absolutely exquisite Venetian Murano glass brooch which is incredibly rare, and to find this in absolutely immaculate condition is even rarer.  It has been kept in a glass display cabinet.

The clarity of the glass is of course exceptional.
 
The depth of colour depends on the light and of course on what the brooch is displayed against.  The sides of the cameo are bevelled and faceted.

The beads surrounding the cameo are not Murano glass, I am unsure what they are but they are intact, immaculate and because they are darker than the cameo part itself, they bring more life to the brooch.

It is all set in a gold plated backing with a strong and sturdy fastening.   It measures 57mm (5.7cm or a little over 2 & 1/4") in length and is 44mm (4.4cm or approx 1 & 3/4") wide at its widest point.
